Thoughts of life at Summerhill from Sirkka Holm, a former Francestown resident.
“Summerhill is a very special place and has a true sense of community. It’s so warming that residents participate in daily tasks. We don’t just take, we give. We truly care, contribute and enrich each other’s lives.”
The residents and staff often discover having mutual interests which spark conversations; all shared with a great sense of humor. It’s a marvelous way to start the day. “I think it’s remarkable how much the staff can accomplish in a day. We depend on them. They happily greet me with a warm smile". My long time friends enjoy meeting my new friends.
This is an ideal place for me. I keep learning while meeting interesting people. We have fascinating discussions and good times reminiscing. There is an impressive variety of music here. “The saxophone player, Michael was terrific. I had a toe tapping good time.” Another resident’s interests in opera prompted future listening. Such a delightful time.
“This makes me feel at home. I am very happy here!”
