Summerhill can provide assisted living services and accommodations on a short-term basis for seniors requiring temporary care. Respite care is a short term stay usually less than one month. Respite stays can be even just a couple of days. The two most common reasons people use respite are for families that have an elderly family member living with them and the family needs a rest or is going on vacation. The second most common reason is when an elderly person has been recently hospitalized and needs a period of recovery/rehabilitation before returning home.

We encourage our Respite residents to feel right at home and enjoy all the services, amenities and comforts of our Community.

Additionally, our Respite Care Program can provide the opportunity for an individual and their family to determine if assisted living residency would be suitable on a more permanent basis. This helps make the transition from their home easier.

Residents who have memory disorders, such as dementia, and require more specialized care will benefit from our specialty care program in a stress free calm setting.  Our dedicated and professionally trained staff will provide a comprehensive program to meet the individual needs of each resident.  We offer on-going structured daily activity programs with family involvement.  We also offer appropriate and delicious well balanced and nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day and evening.  We have a beautiful landscaped walking path in an outside secure courtyard.
